Here we are making a Pyramid at the pool. We took the kids on a mini-retreat to a pool this day. For one 11 year old boy, it was his first time to go to a pool!

This is the way its done in Nicaragua. All concrete is mixed by hand. We make a volcano with sand, concrete, and rock. We then make a little open volcano and poor the water in the middle for mixing.

This was our bathwater for the week. It gets you just as clean as the shower, but the process is far more...interesting!

You can call it a septic tank, but its really an outhouse pit. There's no running water for the bathroom. Not uncommon in this area.
TJ is drilling holes in the wall where the wire reinforcements will be inserted. This wire bars will then be tied to the wire mesh laid down before the concrete. Wire = stronger floor!
Before we put the wire down, we poured a base of concrete to hold the wire off the floor. The wire needed to be in the middle of the concrete (between the dirt and the top of the concrete) for added strength.
Another free wheelbarrow ride. Man, we should charge for these things! Its work time around here!
