This is the way its done in Nicaragua. All concrete is mixed by hand. We make a volcano with sand, concrete, and rock. We then make a little open volcano and poor the water in the middle for mixing.

You can call it a septic tank, but its really an outhouse pit. There's no running water for the bathroom. Not uncommon in this area.

TJ is drilling holes in the wall where the wire reinforcements will be inserted. This wire bars will then be tied to the wire mesh laid down before the concrete. Wire = stronger floor!

Before we put the wire down, we poured a base of concrete to hold the wire off the floor. The wire needed to be in the middle of the concrete (between the dirt and the top of the concrete) for added strength.
